Is it Better to Use Fixed Frequency Air Source Heat Pump or Inverter Air Source Heat Pump for Home H

Nowadays, most of the cold areas are using clean heating methods. At present, there are two types of heating units in the air source heating market,one is the heating unit using frequency conversion technology and the other is the heating unit using traditional fixed frequency technology,the discussion on which of the two technologies is better has always been the focus of debate in the market.


1. What are the fixed frequency air source heat pump and inverter air source heat pump?


The grid voltage is divided into 220 volts, 50 Hz, 380 volts, 50 Hz. The air energy working under this voltage condition is collectively referred to as fixed frequency air source heat pump. The fixed frequency air source heat pump relies on its continuous "on and off" to adjust the indoor temperature.


The inverter air source heat pump can change the fixed frequency of 50 Hz to the operating frequency of 20 Hz-120 Hz through the frequency conversion controller,it can adjust the power supply frequency of compressor and fan at any time according to the environment and water temperature, and also the speed of the compressor and fan can be adjusted to achieve stepless speed regulation, so as to achieve rational use of energy.


2. The characteristics of the inverter air source heat pump that is superior to the fixed frequency air source heat pump


(1) The inverter air source heat pump has a low current when the system is started, which will not impact the power grid and the watt-hour meter, and can reduce the interference to other indoor electrical appliances in use. The voltage adaptation range reaches 120V-270V, which solves the problem of instability of the voltage that affects the work. The wider the frequency variation range, the more it can ensure the non-stop operation under most working conditions,and the more obvious the energy-saving advantage. The fixed frequency requires frequent startup and shutdown to adjust the temperature, which is likely to cause damage to the compressor. The strong current input when starting up, so it consumes electricity, and the inverter does not need to start frequently,from this aspect, the inverter is more energy-saving than the fixed frequency.


(2) The inverter air source heat pump can change the fixed frequency of 50 Hz to the operating frequency of 20 ~ 120 Hz through the frequency conversion controller, and it can adjust the power supply frequency and speed of the compressor and fan at any time according to the environment and water temperature, so as to achieve the rational use of energy. On account of that the current is low when the inverter unit starts, which will not impact the power grid as well as the watt-hour meter, solving the problem of instability of the voltage that affects the work, also, it can reduce the interference to other indoor electrical appliances in use.


(3) After the water temperature reaches the set temperature, the inverter air source heat pump will not stop running like the fixed frequency air source heat pump, but will run at a lower frequency to maintain the set temperature. The fixed frequency air source heat pump maintains the set temperature by repeatedly starting and stopping the compressor, the temperature difference fluctuates greatly, and the water temperature fluctuates up and down, so the room temperature will be too cold or too hot.


(4) The inverter air source heat pump can realize the compressor, water pump and other components to operate in different degrees by changing the frequency of alternating current. Taking the winter heating as an example, if it is a traditional fixed frequency air source heat pump, once it reaches the set temperature, it will automatically stop, if the temperature does not reach the set value, it will automatically turn on. Although, the automatic setting is good, frequent startup and shutdown will have an impact, firstly, it will affect the service life of the air source heat pump compressor, and secondly, it will increase the consumption of electricity.
